Mike Holmes and Ottawa's OakWood Announce New Partnership
OTTAWA, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Mike Holmes, Canada's Most Trusted Contractor and OakWood, Ottawa's largest and most established Design and Build Renovator, are pleased to announce a new partnership in which OakWood will immediately begin working with Mike's company, The Holmes Group on several new initiatives in Ottawa. These include home renovations, ultra-green in-fill housing, sustainable green communities and new building technologies, including software.
"We're pleased to enter into this partnership with OakWood," said Seth Atkins, Director of Holmes Approved Homes, The Holmes Group. "First, when it comes to doing it right, OakWood was the only Ottawa renovator that met or exceeded every standard we have for selecting partners. And," he continues, "we both share a passion and commitment to building greener homes, raising industry standards and meeting tomorrow's standards for home building today by incorporating the most energy efficient technologies."
OakWood was recently recognized with a prestigious provincial award for Most Outstanding Home Renovation up to $100K by the Ontario Home Builders Association at the 2013 Awards of Distinction. It has won the BBB Torch Award for Trustworthiness and it is also the only Ottawa renovator to win the Consumer Choice Award for Best Home Designers & Renovation Company; an award it has won six years consecutively since it was introduced in 2008.
"We are honored and excited to have been chosen as the only renovator in Ottawa to have met the high standards of Mike Holmes," said John Liptak, CEO & President, OakWood. "Like Mike Holmes, we have worked hard to build a reputation that is based on accepting only the highest standards in home construction," said Liptak.
After careful evaluation and an extensive pre-qualification assessment, The Holmes Group chose OakWood as its exclusive renovator partner for the Ottawa market. OakWood's leadership in quality construction and dedication to making homes more green and energy efficient were defining factors that led to the partnership.
The partnership has been a catalyst for a number of innovative initiatives, such as a Super Green in-fill project. The project combines both OakWood's and the Holmes Approved Homes program's resources to design and build an environmentally friendly prototype home that sets a new standard for energy usage. Construction is expected to begin early 2014.
