Not only is Holmes passionate about helping people renovate their homes — and in a sense, their lives — but he also dedicates much of his personal energy and finances to those in need. He took on a project in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans to build and replace the house a family lost in Hurricane Katrina.
Closer to home, he led a team of volunteers who rebuilt a beloved Toronto children's playground, which had been torched by arsonists.
Holmes returns to TV in “Holmes Makes It Right” (premiering on Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. ET). The show focuses on homes ruined by natural disasters, poor home inspections or bad contractor work.
As his replies to our 11 Questions suggest, he's a fearless family man of very few words.
